Best Intentions

My plan is to not open this book until I get on the plane next Saturday.

My reality is that I'd probably better find a backup book, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to stick to the plan.

Today's Movie: Half Nelson

I'm not sure what I think of this movie. I think it is brilliantly acted. There is not one weak performance in this film. But, I hate the way it ended.

If anyone has seen this movie, I'd love to know what you thought of it.

Oh yeah. Baseheads don't have friends.

Joke of the Day

The joke emailers have been quiet lately, but today's joke was pretty good:

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the
kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where
she is in her menstrual cycle.

For example: If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and
masculine features. However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal, she
tends to be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth and a
spear lodged in his chest while he is on fire.

No further studies are expected.

Shock & Awe

So, yesterday at.....oh.....5:45 I ordered a pair of shoes from Endless.com I can't tell you where I heard about them, but I need a pair of sandals (yes, I know we just got 8.5 inches of snow up on the NW side of Naptown!). I need the sandals for Spring Break. I was really just looking, but I found some that were cute, so I ordered them. Not only did I not have to pay for shipping, but they GAVE ME $5 bucks off for shipping. So, the price of my shoes, minus 5. Sweet.

Not only that (because that is just a special deal they're running for February) but they have overnight shipping.

Not only that, but UPS delivered my shoes in the middle of a $*@^&! snowstorm! I felt so sorry for the guy!

It is safe to say I am both shocked and awed. I think I love this store.

Oh yeah, and they have men's shoes too. Don't be shy, guys.

I bought these, in lovely Palomino. But, I also saw about twelve different pairs of shoes that I coveted!

I think miss. If you were Satan's daughter, you'd have MUCH better shoes.

Deep Dish Goodness

Today (well, Saturday, actually) is a friend's birthday so I ordered in Giordano's pizza for us to have at work to celebrate. I'm always nervous about sharing things I love because you never know if someone else with just HATE it. There isn't much to hate about Giordano's, but sometimes people will say they hate it just because you like it so much.

But, no worries. Everyone loved it, and it was a happy birthday feast all around. We had to do some adjusting for the cooking times since it was still frozen solid once it got here......but, we figured it out and were on our way to deep dish, cheesy goodness. I highly recommend them if you're ever in Chicagoland.

Best Cellist Ever

I hope he recovers. And I'm pretty impressed that the Star had a link to this story on its front page.

Congrats!

I wish it would have turned out differently, but Indy will be rockin' for the next little while. Plus, it was a great game. Now we can finally stop hearing about how Manning (and Dungy) can't win the big game.

Is it baseball season yet?

Oh. Yeah. Baby.

I was totally digging the halftime show. First time in years.

I'm fixing a banana split!

My dad's famous last words.

Hey, whatever gets you through the superbowl. His phone has been ringing off the hook with "What's wrong with your team?" questions. His answer is always the same: Rex Grossman.

I could use a banana split right about now too.
