Addictive and Adorable

Watching the Spelling Bee on ESPN2. I guess this is the semi finals. The kid from Terre Haute, Kennyi Aouad, just missed his word. Truttaceous. I missed it too. He was close, though. (I was close too!) Adorable kid, though. And young, only 11.

This damn thing is addictive.

Question of the day:

Riding on Washington St. up to the 465 interchange with my sister:

"If it's called Blueberry Hill Pancake House, why is the sign green?"

Good question!

No more terrible twos!

The blog is 3 today! Now its time for terrible threes!

This past year hasn't been all that eventful as far as posts go. I'll certainly try and do better. Readership fell off by quite a bit between 2005-2006. Is that voting with your clicks?! I hear you, people!

Probably won't be much help for it, as I lead a pretty non-exciting life......but I do hear ya.

Enjoy the heat today. I'm taking a trip to the Tye Dye grill for dinner.

Hand sewn to perfection

Greetings! Guess what? I had surgery on Tuesday!

I have lots of itty bitty stitches inside and, of course, I've been doing way too much since I got home on Wednesday. But, I think I'm officially on lockdown now. If it isn't within arms reach of the couch, I won't be going there.

I am feeling pretty wonderful, though, all things considering.

So, what is up with all of you?

READ A BOOK

I don't even know what to say. I love this.

Wednesday, May 16

I know it's a stunt

But it is a good one. I'm very impressed that people are willing to do this, even if it is just for a week. it probably makes it worse being surrounded by all of the tasty things you want to eat and not eating them.

After reading this story, I can't get the idea of a big roast beef sandwich out of my head......

Tim Ryan is blogging the experiment here.

Update: Well Tim Ryan's blog isn't working. I'll leave it up in case it comes back. But, someone else is blogging the experiment as well. Check it out here.

I didn't fall in

What's up, party people? Yeah, I'm still here. Nothing much has been going on, though.

I did kind of neglect to send out congrats to Rabble Rouser, though. You made it, buddy! It seems so strange that its been three years already! THREE YEARS!!! Of course, law school rarely ends with graduation. Most (but not all) people have bar review immediately following. But, what a huge accomplishment. Good for you!

I still can't believe its been three years.

Congrats to you too, Evan, on getting through 1L. You know, I really, really, really can't believe I've "known" you jokers for THREE YEARS!!!

And oh yeah, that Kathryn Johnston story is crazy.

Okay, I'm done. It just doesn't seem like it has been that long.........

And, really, I don't have much more to say than that. I need to go catch up on my Tivo...... You know it's bad when watching tv is like a job. Hopefully, I can get it all cleaned up and back to zero.

Today's "Love me some Cheryl Burke" moment is brought you by TMZ.com

I LOVE me some Cheryl Burke!

That's all.

Thanks for stopping by.

hilarity

A friend of mine, to whom this currently applies, sent this to me this morning. It's a few years old, but still hilarious. Even to those of us who are as yet childless.

Friday, May 4

YAY!

I got an unexpected scholarship today. 7k, usually, doesn't just drop out of the sky onto my head.

Maybe I should look up more.

Don't be stupid

Two exams down. Here is a funny story:

Sports Law was my day class this semester, so the exam was at 1pm. Wednesday, I leave work at 12, head over to school, get a great parking spot. Love finals! Go on up to the exam room, take out the laptop, surf the web. 12:30, 12:40......no one else has come in the room. I check the schedule to make sure I'm in the right room, and I am.

Right room. Wrong day. The exam is THURSDAY, not Wednesday. Duh. I guess it's better being a day early than a day late. But still! Yeah, I was a big finals doofus. But, we all had a good laugh about it when I got back to work. And, bonus, I got an extra day to study!

You see, I don't mind telling you what an idiot I am. That's how close we are.

Tuesday, May 1

At least she didn't lie under oath

How sad that its the best thing I can say.

May Day

And the Attorney General is going to be in town. Can you believe he has the nerve to show his face? I hope someone asks him about the firing of the US attorneys. But, they probably won't.

Great Scott!

Well, the first exam is over. Yippee. Like every other exam, it was fine. I knew some things and didn't know others. Pretty much the same as every other exam. Didn't I just say that?

Anyway, with an exam tomorrow, and a paper due and another exam on May 9th, posting may be kind of sparse. Just so ya know.

  • I think I love me some Steve Sanders. I was never a big Ian Ziering fan, truth be told, but I'm finding a new appreciation for him. Must be the Cheryl factor.
  • For the first time, ever, my computer wouldn't behave during the final. Well, in fact, I'm blaming it on the stupid wireless connection and not my baby. We upload our exams now, if we so choose, and mine wouldn't upload yesterday. Of course, I had my USB key on me, so problem solved. Still, it was an annoyance.
  • This year's 24 has been less good.
