Spoilsport
You know, I just done find this stuff funny. I know I'm in the minority on this. How do I know? Because these people just got a hella major book deal, that's how I know.
What the fuck for?! It isn't funny. It isn't cute. It isn't even interesting. And, imagine, there are real writers out there busting their behinds for a book deal and these idiots got one.
I know. I know. Let it go. I'm just SAYIN'.

Steel City
Um.....yeah. I didn't see too much of Pittsburgh. I did walk around a bit, but most of the time was spent in the hotel. A lot of the conference goers called it Hotel Baghdad because it was under construction. The fact that they could even joke about that tells me all I need to know about how seriously people are taking this war.
But, that is neither here nor there.

I didn't listen to the audio
But the blurb made me laugh out loud. I loved the part at the end about Noah. Makes you say "hmmmmm"

White Sox-Tigers stats
I love the MLB Press Pass. If you're a baseball junkie -- which I'm not but I have aspirations -- then this is the best thing ever. Cubs fan introduced it to me, and I usually read it on gameday. I'll read the Sox, whoever the Sox are playing, and the Cubs. Why the Cubs, you ask? Well, honestly, it's interesting!
Not only do they have all kinds of stats (some of which I skim) they have historical details about the team, what happened on that date in the past, all time type stats, etc. History + baseball = hell yeah. Hit me again.
All time, Tigers have bested us 984-970. When you think about how many games that is, 14 is not a big margin at all. That is pretty remarkable.

Kinda cool
That Indiana matters (in political terms.)
But, ya know......political commercials.......I'm about done. I know they're a necessary evil, but they do tend to break a person down, no?
But, one thing I will say for the D candidates for ex Julia Carson seat, all of the ads I have seen have been positive. Not "why you shouldn't vote for the other guy/gal", but :why you should vote for me."
I appreciate that.

Seriously, it would be a hazard to drink and click
This website cracks me up. Someone taking book covers and making fun of them......brilliant.
If you choke on water, or Coke flies from your nose, don't blame me. You've been warned.

P is the letter of love
There are several cities of love and romance that begin with the letter P. Paris, of course, is the obvious one. Everyone knows about Paris. But I bet ya'll DON'T know about Pittsburgh.
That's right. Pittsburgh is the capital of romance starting next week. That is where Romantic Times is having their annual book lover's convention. Authors, aspiring authors, publishers, agents, booksellers, librarians (whoo hoo!) and ........cover models, will all be converging on Pitt for a week, give or take, to network, network, network. And, presumably, have some fun. Parties galore, or so I understand.
I hope I can bring back lots of good things to give away to my colleagues. Most of you know I love giving away books and book related items. Is there anything better than giving someone something they didn't expect? I do like to make people smile.

Fridays rock
There are several reasons to love Fridays at work but one of the best is that half (over half, actually) of my department doesn't work on Fridays. And the ones that are left, save a few, are the best ever. Fridays are a hell of a lot of fun.
And, in addition to fun, lots of work gets done. Wheat from chaff and all that.
We went out to lunch today and, although the food was extraordinarily good, we had to wait for over an hour for it. I don't know what happened in the kitchen, but I think our order got lost.
And, add to that, there was a b***** from work who was there. God save me. I wonder if that was why our food was late...... How is THAT for a conspiracy theory?
But, even given all of THAT, Fridays still rock.

Witchboard (trailer)
I honestly can't tell you what kind of rock we were smoking in the 80s that made us watch this movie over and over again!
I can only blame it on youth
Something about this story makes me happy
And it isn't just because he plays for the Sox.......although that might have something to do with it.
